Spain struck after 12 minutes against Poland, Iniesta played a delightful cross with the outside of his boot that serial-goalscorer David Villa slid home from close-range. Five minutes later the European Champions doubled their advantage when David Silva knocked in the second and Iniesta and Xavi combined in the build up. Spain’s World Cup ambitions were on full show as they continued to press for more goals, Liverpool forward Fernando Torres slammed in number five from Pedro’s left-wing cut-back. In the 81st it was six as Barcelona starlet Pedro Rodriguez scored with a cute lob after Torres had collected a ball over the top.
